How can we help?
Start with the FAQ — most product questions have a quick answer there. Still stuck? Ask the assistant or open a ticket.
Getting started
How fast can I get a server running?
Most deploys finish in under 90 seconds from the time payment is confirmed. The wizard takes about a minute to fill out, then we provision the container, set up the network, and start the Minecraft server in the background.
What server software do you support?
Vanilla, Paper, Purpur, Fabric, and Forge — pick from the dropdown in the deploy wizard. You can change the Minecraft version, install mods, and run plugins (on Paper/Purpur).
What address do my players connect to?
Each server gets a subdomain like myserver.ravenousmc.com — players just type that in the Add Server box, no port number needed. We set up the SRV record automatically.
Can I change the world seed after deploying?
No — the seed is locked once the world is generated. We collect it in the deploy wizard so it can be baked in at first boot. If you need to change it, the only path is a fresh deploy.
Servers & gameplay
How do I add players to my whitelist?
Go to your server's Settings tab in the panel and use the Whitelist section. Type the username (no UUIDs needed) — we look it up against Mojang automatically.
How do I install mods or plugins?
Use the Files tab in the panel to upload .jar files into the /mods (Forge/Fabric) or /plugins (Paper/Purpur) folder, then restart the server from the Overview tab. We don't restrict which mods or plugins you can run.
Why does my server log say "online-mode=false" is a security risk?
It's a Minecraft default warning. Our servers run with online-mode=true and authenticate against Mojang directly, so the warning doesn't apply to your server. The message comes from Paper itself and we can't suppress it without forking Paper.
Can I increase my player slot count?
The advertised slot count is the comfortable limit for your plan's RAM. You can technically set max-players higher in Settings, but the server will struggle if you exceed what the heap can support. Better to upgrade your plan.
What Java version is my server running?
We pick the right Java version automatically based on your Minecraft version (Java 8 for legacy, Java 17 for modern, Java 21 for the newest). You can't override it — picking the wrong one causes startup crashes.
Backups & data
How do backups work?
Every plan includes 3 backup slots. You can run them manually or set a daily schedule. Backups are encrypted per-instance and stored on our infrastructure — your world data is treated like production data.
What if I need more than 3 backup slots?
Buy add-on slots from the Backups tab on your server — $1.50/slot/month. Backup storage above the free 3-slot baseline is metered at $0.05/GB-month.
How fast is a restore?
Per-second — we restore the snapshot directly into the container, no re-upload required. Most restores complete in under 60 seconds.
Are my backups deleted if I cancel?
Backups are retained for 30 days after a server is destroyed, so you can restore to a new instance if you change your mind. After 30 days they're permanently deleted.
Billing
What's the difference between subscription and prepaid?
Subscription auto-renews monthly (or quarterly/annually if you pick a longer term). Prepaid is a one-time payment for N months — when it runs out, the server is destroyed unless you renew or convert to a subscription. Both get the same discount ladder for longer terms.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Right now plan changes require redeploying to the new plan and restoring from backup. Direct in-place resizing is on our roadmap. Contact us if you need help with the migration.
What happens if my payment fails?
We retry the charge for 24 hours and email you. If it's still failing, the server is suspended (stopped, but data intact). 48 hours after suspension, the server is destroyed — backups are retained for 30 days regardless.
Do you bill for bandwidth or storage overages?
No bandwidth charges. The only metered item is backup storage above the 3 free slots ($0.05/GB-month). Everything else is included in your plan price.
Account
How do I sign in?
We use email-based magic codes — no password to remember. Enter your email, we send a 6-digit code, you type it in. You can also enroll a TOTP authenticator app for 2FA.
Can I delete my account?
Cancel any running servers first, then contact us — we'll delete your account and all associated data. We don't sell or share your information with anyone.
