We've been keeping business infrastructure running since 2001 — networks, servers, custom software, the kind of work that has to stay up because someone's payday depends on it. RavenousMC is that same infrastructure, those same practices, pointed at something a little more fun.
What we do
Ravenous Networks is a managed-service provider and custom software shop. The bulk of our day is spent making computers, networks, and the software that runs on them behave for other businesses. It's not glamorous, but it's the kind of work where "mostly working" isn't good enough — so we've gotten pretty careful about how we run things.
A few years ago we started running Minecraft servers for ourselves, then for friends, then for friends of friends. Every commercial host we tried was either opaque about billing, slow to use, or built like it might disappear next quarter. We already had the hardware and the operational habits. RavenousMC is what came out of asking, "why aren't we just running this properly?"
